12 abril 2021.- Candidatos de Perú Libre y Fuerza Popular fueron los favoritos del electorado regional durante los comicios de ayer.

En Arequipa, con actas procesadas al 37%, el candidato de Perú Libre, Pedro Castillo, lidera la preferencia de votos con el 15%. Mientras que le sigue de cerca Keiko Fujimori, de Fuerza Popular, con un 13%. Un escenario similar se vive en el resto del país, donde Castillo y Fujimori, al 70% de actas procesadas, pasarían a segunda vuelta.

Jefe de la ODPE Arequipa 1, Marco Vilela, dijo que el conteo de votos en Arequipa va en un 86%, hay 24 actas observadas y una impugnada. Faltan contabilizar alrededor de 300 actas y se está a la espera de la llegada de las que se registraron en San Juan de Tarucani.

También indicó que se propondrá que algunas mesas de sufragio que estuvieron conformadas por adultos mayores y que ayer tuvieron problemas, que sean reasignados en segunda vuelta, para que entren en sus reemplazo personas más jóvenes, debido a su seguridad.

Mientras que el ausentismo de electores en Arequipa llegó al 18% durante esta contienda electoral.
