Arequipa 23 julio 2019.- Para vigilar el cumplimiento de los derechos ciudadanos durante las protestas que ocurren en la provincia de Islay, en el valle del Tambo; organizaciones civiles de alcance nacional como la Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos (CNDDHH), Red Muqui y la Asociación Nacional de Centros (ANC) conformaron una Misión de observadores que puedan dar cuenta del desarrollo del conflicto en la provincia arequipeña contra el proyecto Tía María.

El secretario ejecutivo de la CNDDHH, Jorge Bracamonte, rechazó la criminalización de los protestantes y pidió a las autoridades ligadas al sistema de justicia a no exceder sus capacidades. “El gobierno es responsable por las manifestaciones de la gente, que rechaza el dialogo impuesto sobre decisiones que ya se tomaron”, señaló el coordinador.

Los secretarios ejecutivos de la Red Muqui Javier Jancke y de la ANC, Josefina Huamán, coincidieron y cuestionaron el Estudio de Impacto Ambiental (EIA) de Tía María, por no ser aceptado en la población y no ofrecer garantías de una adecuada responsabilidad ambiental.

Los tres elaborarán un informe luego de visitar al valle del Tambo.
