Mollendo 27 julio 2025.- El club San Martín de Mollendo, fue fundado un 20 de abril de 1969 por los vecinos del barrio del mismo nombre.

Mollendo 27 julio 2025.- El club San Martín de Mollendo, fue fundado un 20 de abril de 1969 por los vecinos del barrio del mismo nombre. A través de su historia ha cumplido grandes actuaciones en el estadio Municipal, ante las escuadras más poderosas del balompié porteño: Pesca Perú, Marítimo, Inclán, Sport Boys, Alfonso Ugarte, Nacional, Atlético, Primero de Mayo.

Sus equipos, de ayer y de hoy, rindieron honor al buen fútbol, atildado y elegante. Se recuerda, siempre, a uno de sus primeros goleadores, Gabino Flores; también a la dupla formada por Percy Paco y Freddy Castillo.

Asimismo el juego magistral de Walter Céspedes y Martín Vargas. 

Omar Poblete, Guido Ocharan, Raúl Montes, integraron un tridente temible, convertían tantos que alegraban a la hinchada y aficionados en general.

Futbolistas de mucha vocación ofensiva tuvo el club.

Tampoco se puede olvidar a Quique Montoya, Serapio Núñez, Abel Espinoza, Arturo Prado. Otro bloque de ataque espectacular de los santos fue el que conformaron Dante Astete, José Lucero, Luis Garcés y los hermanos Abel y Jorge Motta, conocedores de los secretos del balón. En temporadas no tan lejanas figuró Henry Álvarez, pescador de goles.

En la nueva etapa, la que viene a partir del 2015, San Martín, tuvo, por supuesto, equipos que deleitaron al público. Surgieron de estos conjuntos jugadores como José Luis Chacón, Diego Pacora, Fernando Choque, Mateo Versace, Jarack Pimentel, juveniles que tuvieron emotivos idilios con las redes.
