Arequipa 02 abril 2020.- La Gerencia Regional de Salud anunció que la cifra de contagios en Arequipa aumentó a 35. También confirmaron que ya suman dos fallecidos por coronavirus (Covid-19) en la Ciudad Blanca.

Los cinco nuevos casos detectados en Arequipa son personas que tuvieron contacto con pacientes infectados, cuyas edades oscilan entre los 37 y 76 años. Justamente, uno de estos casos corresponde a un hombre de 56 años que perdió la vida el domingo 29 de marzo en el hospital central de Majes, por complicaciones respiratorias.

El gerente regional de Salud, Dember Muñoz, explicó que se viene realizando el hisopado a todos los contactos de los pacientes con Covid-19 positivo. Es por esta razón que se incrementó la cantidad de contagios oficiales, debido a que hay pacientes asintomáticos.

Las autoridades de Salud de Arequipa aún están a la espera de los resultados de 131 muestras. Estas fueron enviadas a Lima para el descarte de coronavirus, en vista que no hay un laboratorio habilitado en la ciudad. En el caso del segundo fallecido en Majes, Muñoz explicó que ya se viene realizando el censo para ubicar a los contactos de la víctima mortal. Esta recolección de muestras se está realizando junto con la Red de Salud Arequipa – Caylloma, y la microred de El Pedregal.

En cuanto a los resultados de posibles casos de coronavirus, que fallecieron en EsSalud, el gerente de Salud aclaró que ya se descartó el caso del paciente de Camaná. La muestra dio negativo, solo falta un caso para descartar, añadió la autoridad de Salud.

Hasta el momento se encuentran en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) 3 pacientes, otros tres más se encuentran hospitalizados. 27 están en aislamiento domiciliario y dos han recibido el alta.
