RECONOCIMIENTO A LA TRAYECTORIA DEL MAESTRO EVERARDO ZAPATA SANTILLANA

02 abril 2025.- En el marco de las celebraciones por el 36° aniversario del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, el gobernador regional Dr. Rohel Sánchez Sánchez entregó un diploma y medalla de oro al maestro Everardo Zapata Santillana, autor del famoso libro "Coquito", en reconocimiento a su invaluable contribución al desarrollo de la educación y su impacto en generaciones de niños y jóvenes, no solo en Arequipa, sino en todo el mundo.

Durante la ceremonia, el gobernador destacó la trascendencia de su obra y la importancia de invertir en educación para continuar avanzando como sociedad. "Coquito" ha sido una herramienta fundamental en la enseñanza de la lecto-escritura, con más de 36 millones de niños hispanohablantes aprendiendo a leer y escribir a través de este texto. ¡Un verdadero orgullo para Arequipa y para el Perú!

Everardo Zapata Santillana, nacido en Cocachacra, Islay, ha dedicado 30 años de su vida a la docencia, siendo el autor de más de 60 publicaciones de material didáctico para la educación inicial y primaria. Además, con su apoyo y visión, la I.E. 41049 en Punta de Bombón lleva su nombre, un homenaje a su legado y a su incansable labor por la educación.
