22 enero 2025.- El Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, a través del área de mantenimiento de la Gerencia Regional de Infraestructura, realizó el mantenimiento de la Bocatoma La Joya - Acarí - Bella Unión.

Esta intervención se realizó tras más de 40 años de su construcción en el año 1984, por lo que hoy los 900 productores de olivo y cebolla están muy agradecidos con la gestión liderada por el gobernador regional Rohel Sánchez Sánchez.

El mantenimiento representó una inversión de un millón 216 mil 510 soles y comprendió el cambio de las compuertas, sellos de jebe hidráulicos, losa de concreto y plancha metálica; asimismo, la nueva tabla estaca, renovación disipador y construcción del colchón.

Para estos trabajos también se contó con el constante acompañamiento del consejero regional por Caravelí, Aarón Maldonado López, y el alcalde de Bella Unión, Richard Vega Taipe, quienes resaltaron el gran beneficio para las juntas de usuarios conformadas por 600 agricultores del distrito de Bella Unión y 300 de Acarí, dedicados principalmente a la olivicultura y al cultivo de cebolla.
