Arequipa 16 julio 2019.- Reunido con dirigentes sociales y sindicales de la región, el gobernador de Arequipa Elmer Cáceres Llica acordó dar un plazo de 72 horas al Gobierno Nacional para cancelar la licencia de construcción que entregó a la empresa Southern Copper Corporation para el desarrollo del proyecto minero Tía María, en el valle del Tambo.

Participaron representantes de la Federación Departamental de Trabajadores de Arequipa (FDTA), el Frente de Defensa, Integración y Desarrollo del Cono Norte (Fredicon), Frente de Desarrollo de la Parte Alta de Paucarpata (Fredipap), Construcción Civil, la Coordinadora Regional, entre otros.

En la cita se propuso el debate de la creación de una nueva Ley de Minería, ya que la actual tiene más de 20 años y la consideran poco apropiada para abordar los problemas que se generan en el sector.

También se anunció que el Gobierno Regional de Arequipa presentará un Recurso de revisión para impugnar el acto administrativo que constituye la entrega de la licencia de construcción para Tía María.

GOBIERNO. Previamente, el presidente del país, Martín Vizcarra, aseguró que no podían anular el permiso entregado. "No se puede anular, tenemos que conversar y fruto del diálogo encontrar las condiciones", declaró ante una cadena nacional televisiva.
