Arequipa 13 junio 2024.- El gobernador regional Dr. Rohel Sánchez Sánchez, realizó una inspección al lugar, junto al alcalde provincial de Islay, Richard Ale Cruz y el equipo técnico del GRA, donde pudo visualizar el terreno, confirmando sus cualidades para convertirse en una potencia portuaria mundial.

Arequipa 13 junio 2024.- Una parte del área destinada para el denominado Megapuerto de las Américas ya se encuentra reservada por el Gobierno Regional de Arequipa en el sector de Corío, ubicado en la provincia de Islay. Son mil 127 hectáreas, las cuales son preservadas para este ansiado proyecto; asimismo, otras 12 mil se encuentran en proceso de reserva para otros componentes adicionales que tendrá.

El gobernador regional Dr. Rohel Sánchez Sánchez, realizó una inspección al lugar, junto al alcalde provincial de Islay, Richard Ale Cruz y el equipo técnico del GRA, donde pudo visualizar el terreno, confirmando sus cualidades para convertirse en una potencia portuaria mundial.

Los beneficios se encuentran en su calado único con 28 metros de profundidad; ubicación estratégica frente al continente asiático y la importancia que tendría para los países americanos; además de convertirse en un puerto de convergencia que no se contrapone a otros como Chancay, buscando convertir al Perú en una hub portuario mundial.
